Knowsley highlighted in national journal for All Together Fairer work

Knowsley’s efforts to tackle health inequalities, as well as Cheshire and Merseyside’s work as a ‘Marmot Place’ through the All Together Fairer Programme, has been highlighted as a case study in a recent publication from the British Medical Journal.

‘Marmot Places: the areas taking a proactive local approach to health inequalities’ explores the challenges the country faces in relation to health inequalities and how these can be tackled locally. As part of the piece, Knowsley’s work to ban unhealthy food advertising on Council billboards and efforts to reduce hospital readmissions were highlighted. Dr Sarah McNulty, Knowsley’s Director of Public Health and Richard Holford, Consultant in Public Health were both interviewed for the piece.
