Eligible residents in Knowsley are being supported to take advantage of the Council’s energy efficiency scheme to access help with replacement boilers and electrical works.
Additionally, via funding from NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, Knowsley Council has put in place a fast-track service for patients who cannot be discharged from hospital because of heating or electrical works required in their property.
Once a patient has been identified, the Council’s contractor completes the necessary work in the property as soon as possible to enable the discharge to take place.
This reduces the need for long hospital stays or temporary transfers to a residential home and reduces the risk of re-admittance due to a cold home.
